Donovan McNabb Is Absolutely Fucking Insane If He Thinks He’s a Hall Of Famer
NFL – Donovan McNabb has quickly fallen from an upper-tier NFL quarterback to a man without a job discussing his legacy. Yes, it’s time to start the McNabb Hall of Fame debate. First up in the discussion: Donovan McNabb. “What happens a lot of times is we look at what the list says, so we talk about the five NFC Championship Games, the six Pro Bowls and then we come to the end, ‘Well, he never won the big game,’ ” McNabb told Mark Kriegel of FoxSports.com, via the Philadelphia Daily News. “Well, Peyton never won the big game until he won the Super Bowl. Dan Marino never won the big game. Does that mean his career is a failure? No, not at all… First of all is his numbers. How many times has he led his team to the big game?” McNabb said “The big game still is the NFC Championship Game, the game to lead you there, and most importantly of all, did he make the players around him better? In his time, in his era, was he a top-five, top-10 quarterback in the league?” McNabb said he’d “absolutely” vote for himself to be in the Hall of Fame, which is a comment that will be mocked in Philadelphia. We don’t think it’s that crazy.
I’ve been a McNabb defender for what feels like most of my life. Defended him against critics in those NFC Championship losses (no receivers), against racists after the Rush comments, and even up until the very end in Philly. But I can no longer defend a man who constantly fishes for attention like a teenage girl. It’s as if he can’t find value in himself if other people don’t think he was good. He was good, but not nearly as fucking good as he thinks he was. The man is an egomaniac, and if he really thinks he deserves to be in the same sentence as Dan Marino or Peyton Manning, has little to no grip on reality. Funny that it took him leaving Philadelphia for the rest of the country to realize the dude is nuts.
Hey, you guys remember when the Eagles traded Donovan at the perfect time? Didn’t Chris Cooley call it “one of the top 10 biggest bonehead trades in the history of the NFL”? Good call, Cooley. That was great.
PS – If McNabb was cooler T.O. would’ve won him a ring and he might’ve actually made the Hall of Fame.

A Hall of fame player? …no Hall of fame choker?…BUHLEEDAT!!!!
I’m pretty sure if you play an entire NFL game and, as the QB throw for less yards than the width of the field you are automatically ineligible for the HOF. I don’t think that is a rule but it sure as shit should be.
“Funny that it took him leaving Philadelphia for the rest of the country to realize the dude is nuts.” – perfect statement
im a diehard philly fan, but damn is it hard to see my fellow fans constantly hate on their best players (mcnabb, howard, etc) time and time again. It is insane if you believe that mcnabb shouldn’t atleast be a damn close call for the hall, and ull find that out yourself if u checked the stats before u wrote this article that is so typical of our fanhood. if he had that ring he would be a slam dunk, no questions asked…but when the time comes, and the people who actually KNOW what theyre talking about get to vote (not philly fans who love to hate, and not espn anchors who dont kno shit) dont be suprised when he gets in.
^^^ and that’s why your teams suck, MCNabb was “one of your best” players.. Guy was a straight fucking bum
rct are you out of your damn mind? As a giants fan that can be honest about donavon’s career, he was a good quaterback. But he was never, EVER an elite quaterback in any time period he played in. By definition he cannot be a HOF player. He was good quaterback with a great career, HOF no chance, and if he gets in its a crock of shit.
2004 was an elite year for him though, thats about it. and he never threw more than 30tds in a season other than that.
check out Jim Kelly’s stats, and the fact that he never won a Super Bowl either. If Jim Kelly is in, then McNabb could be as well. Not saying he should or shouldn’t, but it’s not as laughable as you’re all making it sound.
I was a fan of of 5 when he was in Philly. I’m just sick of his same shit. The ” yeah but” always pissed me off. I could have played better, but so could have the defense. I’m working with what we have but we could use a play maker. Nothing was ever his fault in his mind.
And for him to be in the HOF he needed a couple more years of production. Going to Washington and Vikings and embarrassed himself with terrible work ethic, etc killed his chances.
Hate to say it but he absoutly benefitted from Andy’s pass happy offense
