Dear Nationals Insider,

Let’s work together to keep Phillies fans out – it’s time to TAKE BACK THE PARK! Starting today, single game tickets for the May 4-6 Nationals vs. Phillies series will be made available only to Nationals fans who reside in Washington, D.C., Maryland or Virginia. To take advantage of this offer, click on the green Take Back the Park button below to register. Upon successful registration, you will receive an email with a one-time-use password to complete your purchase. Nationals fans may purchase up to eight tickets per game in one transaction, while supplies last. We invite you to show your Nationals pride and TAKE BACK THE PARK!

Sincerely,
Andrew Feffer
Chief Operating Officer

I’ve always hated the idea of selective ticket sales. Seems completely unAmerican. It’s like saying certain people can’t vote unless their grandfathers voted. Pure prejudice. Restricting ticket sales to a certain geographic area goes against everything wonderful about freedom and equality in this great nation. Which is ironic, because who would have thought the Washington NATIONALS would hate freedom so much?

But hey, whatever it takes to…lose money for your organization? What’s your end game here, Andrew? LOWER ticket sales? DECREASE revenue? Because last time I checked Phils fans were buying up the majority of your seats and putting dollars in YOUR club’s pockets. Money that you then spend on signing free agents and trying to lure Roy Oswalt to the dark side. It’s a two-way street, Nationals. We get to bully your fragile and pre-pubescent fan base in their own home, and you get our cash to eventually try to put together a decent product on the field. That’s the deal.

But by all means — do what’s best for your organization. If that means playing in front of an empty stadium full of half-hearted Virginians with no real interest in the team, so be it.

PS – You know we’re just going to hijack that “#OurPark” hashtag when we find a way to buy tickets and pack the stadium again, right?
