Ah, memories. In 2001 South Street got turned upside-down by a Mardi Gras riot that sprang from the crowds at Fat Tuesday’s and ended up terrorizing the whole neighborhood. I remember walking down that block like a week later and seeing all of the windows smashed in and boarded up. Mad people got free booze, a new heavy-ass TV, and those Philly’s Most Wanted & Linkin Park CDs they wanted that day. Makes me wonder how much great footage went to waste. If only YouTube and camera phones were around then.
