We Talkin’ Bout Interest: Iverson Forced To Give Up Nearly $900K Over Unpaid Jewelry
Philly.com – A JUDGE IN GEORGIA has garnished Allen Iverson’s earnings to pay a hefty sum owed to a jeweler, according to a report. TMZ, citing court papers it had obtained, reported Aydin & Company Jewelers in Atlanta had sued Iverson in 2010 over an unpaid $375,000 bill. The report said Iverson did not respond to the lawsuit, so a default judgment was issued in favor of the jeweler. Now, the debt has climbed to $859,898.46 because it includes attorneys’ fees, court costs and interest. The report said the money would be taken out of Iverson’s bank account. No word on whether the debt has been settled yet.
I hate when I wake up on a Tuesday and find $900,000 missing from my checking.
For real I’ll stick by AI for my entire life. Gambling problems, money problems, gun problems, hair problems, jewelry problems, wife problems, game problems, Turkey problems — doesn’t matter. I signed on as an Iverson fan when I was in elementary school and that shit is a lifelong commitment. Dude could get run up on by Seal Team Six with Bin Laden’s cousin and a bomb on his chest and I’d swear to God it was Obama’s fault.
But since when does $375 grand turn into $900 grand in a year? Lawyer fees? Did this jewelry store build their own robot lawyers made from gold and diamonds? Was the courtroom in some top secret undersea fortress? How much interest does a couple of earrings and a chain or two command? Just seems like they’re trying to fuck over my boy here while he’s down and I’m not buying it. Empty your account and mattress that shit, AI. You earned those chains.

The Philly site has been so irrelevant these last couple of weeks.
