HOLLYWOOD – The Onion is renowned for crossing lines of good taste, but has the satirical newspaper finally gone too far? During the Oscars ceremony, the brains behind The Onion’s Twitter account posted this joke about 9-year-old Best Actress nominee Quvenzhané Wallis: “Everyone else seems afraid to say it, but that Quvenzhané Wallis is kind of a c**t, right?” On the one hand, it’s a joke on playing on how utterly sweet, adorable and not-at-all C-word-like Wallis was at the Oscars. On the other hand, she’s 9, and words don’t come any worse than that one. Someone at The Onion clearly saw sense and deleted the tweet, but not before sparking fury on Twitter.

Quvenzhané-gate! How else are you supposed to describe someone who owns a puppy purse? Obviously they were joking, it’s The Onion for Christ’s sake, but probably not the best PR move to call a little girl who every single person thinks is the cutest thing ever a cunt. You couldn’t call the cuntiest cunt in history a cunt and get away with it. That’s my ex, btw, and I’ve attempted that tactic in argument multiple times. No dice. You just look like a dick in the end no matter what. The Onion should stick to safe topics like jokes about rape or posting a pic of some famous person’s kid pantsless and comparing their genitalia to WWII weaponry.

If there is a more African name than Quvenzhané Wallis I need to hear it.
